You will need notebooks for the activity.
Learning Goal: I can
- ...describe centripetal force, give examples, and relate it to Newton’s Laws of Motion.
- ...describe the difference between centripetal force and “centrifugal force”.
Today: Gravitation Activity
- Work with a partner. At least one of you will need internet access.
- Use the Gravitation Activity Sheet to guide you through the steps, recording your answers in your notes in a way that will allow you to understand your responses later
- The simulation: http://www.physicsclassroom.com/Physics-Interactives/Circular-and-Satellite-Motion/Gravitational-Fields
- Get it checked off with Mr. Mason when you are done.
Assignment:
- Due Fri. 4/13: Take Cornell or other organized format notes over gravitation force from any or all of the resources below. Remember: good note taking should includes sample equations, diagrams, drawings, doodles (related to the content!), text language, etc. Pro tip: Include a sample calculation with numbers. The math in this one is confusing to some!
