Continue working on the lab.
Learning Goal: How to measure and describe motion using graphs.
Today: Interpreting the Slope Lab
- Question: How does the slope of the line on a position‐time graph compare to the speed of an object?
- Materials: motion detector, calculator; constant speed car
- Do for two different speeds of the car. Make sure that you are looking at the constant velocity portion of the graph.
- As I teach groups how to do things like isolate the constant velocity portion of the graph, or find the slope of the line, please teach other groups. We'll be successful when we have a room full of teachers!
- Record the data in your notes - you will be responsible for reporting on a board.
Assignment:
- Due Tues 10/3: pp. 13-14 of Graphing practice packet.
- Finish any incomplete work from the packet!
