Find your new seat for the month.
Learning Goal: Understand what energy is, and its relationship to work.
Today: Finish
Given: 12‐inch ruler with a groove down the middle; meter stick; marble; Dominoes; note card.
Find: What is the effect of varying the release location of a marble along an incline upon the distance which the marble drives a paper plow along a level table? Can an equation be written which describes the effect (presuming that there is one)?
Remember the BIG THREE: Accuracy, Precision, Consistency. At least FIVE data points, at least THREE trials per data point.
- On your board: Organized data table, graph, summary
Assignment:
- Energy Unit Assignment Sheet
- Pp. 1-6 done? If not, good luck on the quiz tomorrow.
- If you or anyone you know who would like a gameplan for graduating from college with minimal debt, encourage them to sign up for my seminar next week. Here's the link.
- Due 3/1: Take Cornell or other organized format notes FOR UNDERSTANDING. Remember that good notes include diagrams, text language, sample equations, etc. Notes should come from:
- APlusPhysics: Types of Energy
- (optional) Crash Course Physics: Work, Power, Energy
- (optional) PhysicsClassroom: Potential Energy, Kinetic Energy, Mechanical Energy
