Learning Goal: I can
- ...describe and calculate the amount of work done to an object.
- ...determine the relationship between power and work.
- ...define work in terms of energy.
- ...distinguish among the different forms of mechanical energy.
- ...define and describe the kinetic energy of an object.
- ...define the Law of Conservation of Energy and apply it to a variety of situations.
Today:
- Given: Hot Wheels car, track, timing device, meter stick
- Find: Draw an LOL chart of the car comparing the top the ramp to the bottom. Use it to write an equation that will help you predict the speed at the bottom of the ramp. Once you have calculated your prediction, show Mr. Mason, then you will find out how close you are!
Assignment:
- Due Mon. 3/19: Energy packet pp. 13-18 (omit #12 on p. 16, unless you are taking AP Physics next year)
