Use your notes to think about how you could measure your power output as you climb some stairs. Write how you would do this in your notes.
What measurements would you need to make? Why?
What tools will you need?
Hint: Think about what force you would be working against!
Learning Goal: Understand what work is.
Today: Horsepower Challenge!
- Develop a procedure to determine their own power requirement for climbing a staircase ‐ both by walking and by running.
- There will be a competition to see who can generate the most horsepower! Prizes to the winner from each class. Can you put your name on the record board??
- For a formative score, iff you have completed the Power notes. If not, must complete the notes then do the lab on your own time.
