- Continue work on the lab. Did you cover different speeds? Different directions?
- While you work, Mr. M will check the assignment that is due.
Learning Goal: To be able to describe concepts of distance, displacement, speed and velocity in qualitative, quantitative and graphical means.
Today: Graph that Motion
Given: low-friction track & cart, motion detector, graphing calculator, (maybe) card stock to help the detector "see" the cart, Hudl Technique or other timing app.
Find: Determine the proper placement of an air track, a glider, and a motion detector to graph a variety of constant velocity motions using a variety of graphs: position versus time, velocity versus time, and acceleration versus time.
If you complete the graphs for constant velocity, repeat for accelerated motion. Again - try different accelerations, different directions. And remember...acceleration is more than just increasing speed!
Assignment:
- Due Wed., 9/20: Practice 2.6
- Due Fri. 9/22: Practice 2.7 (Make sure you know your assigned concept question from the board)
- Due Mon. 9/25:
- Syllabus and Safety Contract. Submit Google Form - students, parents.
- Complete this online activity (approx 15 min)
